The National Zoo of Malaysia, aka Zoo Negara, is not just another zoo for you. The Kuala Lumpur National Zoo Tour Package provides opportunity to witness more than 450 animal species in exhibits in the stretch of over 110 acres of landscapes, serving as their own habitat perfectly. You may witness more than 5000 specimen of birds, mammals, fish and amphibians closely in a unique ‘open zoo’ concept. Your Zoo Negara ticket includes the Giant Panda Conservation Centre where you can get up close to the famous giant pandas in Malaysia, Liang Liang and Xing Xing. The park also hosts different performances and multi-animal show is worth visiting as it features well-trained macaques, sea lions, and macaws.

The Zoo also offers kid-friendly exhibits that are known as the Children's World. At the Zoo multi-animal shows are organised twice in a day whereas train rides and guided tours are available on weekends. Mini Bee Museum is located at the heart of the zoo that helps visitors to know about the different types of bees in the country. Multi animal photo corner is at the main entrance of the zoo where visitors can enjoy photography with snakes, horses and birds. Education is the major objective of the zoo which also provides free educational services to schools and group visits. There is an oldest and most extensive freshwater aquarium situated within the zoo which highlights Malaysian rivers and wetlands that house a wide variety of aqua creatures, including prawns, corals and aquatic insects. It is accessible via a public transportation that makes it easy for the visitors to explore the zoo.

  1. Opening hours – 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Daily)
  2. Ticket price varies as per the age of the visitors
  3. Don’t miss the multi-animal show which takes place every day from 11am to 3pm and 11am to 3.30pm on Fridays.
  4. Child ticket is available for children from 3 to 12 years
  5. Entry is free for children from 0 to 2 years
  6. Children should have at least one adult
  7. Free entry for guests with physical disabilities (by showing valid OKU/PWD card)
Opening hours
  1. The park is open every day from 9am to 5 pm (last entry is 4pm)
  2. Last entry in Giant Panda Conservation Centre is 4.30 pm from Monday to Friday and 5.30 pm from Saturday to Sunday.
Getting There

By LRT – Hop on Kelana Jaya line at Wangsa Maju station and then take taxi to the zoo which takes only 6 minutes.

Bus – At Putra LRT station, take Rapid KL bus 253 to Wangsamaju stop. Or you can take Rapid KL 220 from Lebuh Ampang KL to Wangsamaju stop. Take a taxi from there to the zoo, which takes only 9 minutes.

Where it is located?

Located around Taman Melawati in Ulu Klang, the National Zoo of Malaysia is stretched over 110 acres of landscapes and is accessible in just 5 km from downtown Kuala Lumpur. Opened on November 14, 1963 officially, the National Zoo in Malaysia is first ever in the country. The National Zoo has been evolved over the years as an open zoo with over 90% animals in airy captives and landscapes like their original habitat.
